Their long history of innovation, along with a great reputation for performance, safety, and quality, have caused it to be one of the most successful and recognizable international brands.

Why is Mitsubishi Called Mitsubishi?

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturing company. It’s the 16th largest automotive manufacturer in the world. Mitsubishi has a long history of innovation and their cars are known for being very affordable and eco-friendly, though in recent years both sales and quality have declined. Consumer Reports went so far as to rank Mitsubishi as the fifth worst car brand of 2017. Still, the brand itself remains recognizable and relevant, and Mitsubishi has made great contributions to the automobile industry as a whole.

Why is Cadillac Called Cadillac?

Cadillac has always tried to portray itself as being the best of the best. The Cadillac Car Company was founded by Henry Leland in New York way back in 1902. It was born out of the ruins of Henry Ford’s second failed company. (His third company, the Ford Motor Company, wouldn’t be such a failure at all!) Leland convinced the shareholders of the defunct Henry Ford Company to stay in business and form the Cadillac Car Company from its ashes. Cadillac released its first car in 1903.

Why is Saab Called Saab?

Grab your tissues – it’s time for a bit of a Saab story.

In 1938, just a few years before World War II, the Swedish government founded Saab for the purpose of the manufacturing of bomber and fighter aircrafts for the Royal Swedish Air Force. They grew to be a very successful production company during the war. Post-war, the company started manufacturing civilian aircraft as well, but they were still looking for completely new products to start manufacturing. Saab considered branching out into building prefabricated housing, washing machines, cars, and boats. Naturally, they settled on cars!
